FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Prosfora is built to make local hiring clearer, more structured, and easier for clients and independent service providers across Metro Vancouver.

Below are straightforward answers about services, registration, bookings, fees, payments, reviews, and support.

About Prosfora

What is Prosfora?

Prosfora is a local services marketplace built for Metro Vancouver.

Clients can discover local service providers, compare profiles and services, message providers directly through the platform, agree on the job details, and complete paid bookings through a structured checkout flow.

Independent service providers can present their services, receive local inquiries, communicate with clients, send offers, manage bookings, and receive payouts through the platform.

Prosfora operates the marketplace. It does not directly perform the services listed by independent providers and is not the provider's employer, contractor, or agent.

Who is Prosfora for?

For clients: Prosfora is for people who need practical local help with property turnover, small moves, packing, item removal, minor home maintenance, small fixes, or detailed one-time cleaning.

For providers: Prosfora is for independent professionals and small local service businesses that offer services within Prosfora's current categories and service area.

What services can I find on Prosfora?

Prosfora currently focuses on four main service categories:

Move-Out & Turnover Services
Services that help prepare a house, condo, or apartment for move-out, move-in, inspection, handover, sale, or the next occupant. This may include cleaning, remaining-item and non-hazardous debris removal, wall restoration, fixture removal, furniture disassembly, pre-listing preparation, readiness checks, and complete rental turnover support.

Small Moves, Packing & Item Removal
Flexible help with mini moves, same-building and short-distance moves, pickups and deliveries, loading and unloading, furniture relocation, packing and unpacking, decluttering, downsizing, unwanted-item removal, and donation or recycling drop-off.

Home Maintenance & Small Fixes
Condo-friendly help with small drywall patches, nail and screw hole filling, paint touch-ups, caulking, minor door and cabinet adjustments, furniture assembly, shelf or TV mounting, curtain rod and blind installation, filter replacement, and other minor household repairs.

Deep & Specialty Cleaning
Detailed one-time cleaning for occupied homes and spaces that need more than routine service. This may include deep cleaning, post-renovation cleaning of non-hazardous dust and residue, seasonal cleaning, balcony and patio cleaning, accessible interior window cleaning, inside-appliance and cabinet cleaning, detailed kitchen and bathroom cleaning, trim detailing, and carpet or upholstery steam cleaning.

Available services depend on active provider listings. Each listing should explain what is included, what is excluded, how pricing works, and any service conditions.

Is Prosfora only for Metro Vancouver?

Prosfora is currently focused on Metro Vancouver.

This local-first approach makes service areas, travel, scheduling, availability, and client expectations easier to manage. Individual providers choose the locations they serve, so availability may vary by municipality.

For Clients

How does Prosfora work for clients?

  1. Search for a service
Browse available services and local provider listings.

  2. Compare providers
Review profiles, descriptions, photos, pricing, experience, service areas, and reviews.

  3. Message the provider
Explain the job, ask questions, share relevant details, and confirm availability.

  4. Agree on the details
Confirm the scope, price, timing, materials, access requirements, and what counts as completion.

  5. Book and pay through Prosfora
Book a fixed-price service or accept a custom offer. Payment is processed through Stripe.

  6. Complete the job and leave a review
After the booking is completed, you can review your experience with the provider.

How do clients register?

Clients can create a Prosfora account using an email address or another supported sign-in option.

Registration is free. Clients do not need a Stripe account and can browse, message providers, and request quotes without paying a platform fee. A valid payment method is required only when making a paid booking.

Can I message a provider before booking?

Yes. Clients can message providers through Prosfora before making a booking.

Use the conversation to explain the job, ask questions, confirm availability, and clarify anything that could affect the price or service. Keeping important details in the Prosfora message thread creates a clearer record for both sides.

What should I include when requesting a quote?

Include as much relevant information as possible:

  • What needs to be done
  • The approximate size, number, or quantity of items
  • The job location
  • Your preferred date and time
  • Whether materials or supplies are required
  • Parking, elevator, access, or building restrictions
  • Clear photos of the work area or items
  • Any conditions that may affect the work

The final price may depend on the scope, materials, timing, location, access, and site conditions. Clear information helps providers send more accurate offers.

What should I confirm before booking?

Before paying, confirm:

  • The exact scope of work
  • The total service price
  • What is included and excluded
  • Who supplies tools and materials
  • The service date and estimated duration
  • The job location and access instructions
  • Parking, elevator, or building requirements
  • Cancellation or rescheduling expectations
  • What counts as job completion
  • Any applicable licence, permit, insurance, or inspection requirements

Review the listing or custom offer carefully before accepting it.

For Service Providers

How does Prosfora work for providers?

  1. Create a provider profile
Add your service area, experience, description, and professional photos.

  2. Connect Stripe
Complete the required identity, business, bank, and payout verification.

  3. Publish your services
Create clear listings with pricing, inclusions, exclusions, and service conditions.

  4. Receive local inquiries
Clients can discover your listings and message you about potential work.

  5. Confirm the job
Agree on the scope, price, timing, materials, access, and completion expectations.

  6. Complete the booking and receive payout
Complete the agreed work and follow the platform flow so the payout can be processed.

How do providers register?

Create a Prosfora account and choose the option to offer services.

Complete your provider profile, connect Stripe, finish Stripe's required verification, and publish at least one clear service listing. Providers must use accurate information and offer only services they are qualified and legally permitted to perform.

Does Prosfora review provider profiles and listings?

Prosfora may review profiles and listings before or after publication to check clarity, completeness, relevance, pricing presentation, photo quality, and marketplace fit.

Prosfora may request changes or remove content that is unclear, misleading, prohibited, unsafe, or outside the platform's current service categories.

A profile or listing review is not an endorsement and does not guarantee workmanship, qualifications, licences, insurance, or suitability for a specific job.

Can providers set their own prices?

Yes. Independent providers control their own service prices and decide which requests to accept.

Providers should clearly explain:

  • The price or pricing method
  • What is included and excluded
  • Whether materials are included
  • Any minimum charge or travel condition
  • What could change the final price
  • Any cancellation or rescheduling conditions

If the final price depends on the job, the provider should confirm the scope and send a clear custom offer before the client pays.

What makes a strong provider profile?

Strong profiles usually include:

  • A clear profile photo or business image
  • A specific service area
  • Relevant experience
  • Professional work photos
  • Focused service titles
  • Accurate descriptions and pricing
  • Clear inclusions and exclusions
  • Realistic availability
  • Fast, professional communication
  • Completed bookings and honest reviews

A complete profile helps clients understand the service before they message or book.

What are providers responsible for?

Providers operate independently and are responsible for:

  • The services they advertise and perform
  • Their tools, materials, transportation, and work methods
  • Accurate pricing and service descriptions
  • Required licences, permits, certifications, inspections, and insurance
  • Taxes, reporting, and business obligations
  • Safety and compliance with applicable laws
  • Completing the work agreed with the client

Prosfora does not employ providers or supervise how they perform their services.

Fees, Payments & Payouts

What fees does Prosfora charge?

Prosfora uses transaction-based pricing:

  • Clients pay a 3% Client Platform Fee added to the provider's service price at checkout.
  • Providers pay a 10% Provider Platform Fee deducted from the provider's service price on paid bookings.

There are no subscription fees, registration fees, listing fees, or paid-lead fees for standard marketplace use.

Applicable pricing is shown through the transaction flow before the client confirms payment and before the provider receives the resulting payout.

When are clients charged?

Clients are charged when they accept an offer or confirm a paid booking through Prosfora's checkout.

The amount shown at checkout includes the provider's service price and the 3% Client Platform Fee. Any later refund, cancellation, dispute, or adjustment is handled according to the booking details, Prosfora's Terms of Service, the applicable platform process, and Stripe rules.

Do clients need a Stripe account?

No. Clients do not need to create or connect a Stripe account.

They only need a valid supported payment method when making a paid booking. Payment information is processed through Stripe's payment infrastructure.

Do providers need a Stripe account?

Yes. Providers must connect Stripe to receive payouts through Prosfora.

Stripe may request identity information, business details, bank account information, tax information, or additional documents before enabling payments or payouts. Prosfora cannot override Stripe's verification requirements.

How are payments handled?

Paid bookings are completed through Prosfora's checkout and processed by Stripe.

Prosfora does not store full client card details. Stripe handles payment information and payment processing under its own security, verification, and processing requirements.

Payment status, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, and payout adjustments may depend on the booking, Prosfora's platform process, Stripe rules, payment-network requirements, and bank processing times.

When do providers get paid?

Provider payout is initiated through the platform after the booking reaches the required completion stage.

The provider's payout is based on the agreed service price after the 10% Provider Platform Fee and any applicable refunds, disputes, chargebacks, or payment adjustments.

The time required for funds to reach the provider's bank account can vary based on Stripe verification, account status, payout schedule, payment method, bank processing times, and any review affecting the transaction.

Can clients pay providers outside Prosfora?

Bookings initiated through Prosfora should be completed and paid through Prosfora.

Off-platform payment can remove the platform transaction record, make an issue harder to review, and may violate Prosfora's Terms of Service. Prosfora may be unable to assist with payments, refunds, cancellations, disputes, or other issues that occur outside the platform.

Trust, Reviews & Responsibility

How does Prosfora create a clearer hiring process?

Prosfora is designed around four practical layers:

  1. Detailed provider profiles
Clients can review service descriptions, photos, pricing, experience, service areas, and reviews.

  2. Direct platform messaging
Both sides can confirm the important job details before payment.

  3. Structured bookings and payments
The agreed service and transaction remain connected through the platform flow.

  4. Reviews from completed bookings
Feedback is connected to real platform activity rather than anonymous submissions.

These features support better-informed decisions, but clients and providers remain responsible for evaluating each other and confirming the job requirements.

Are providers verified?

Providers must complete the verification required by Stripe before receiving payouts. Stripe verification is used for identity, payment, and payout purposes.

Prosfora may also review profiles and listings for clarity, completeness, relevance, and marketplace fit.

Neither process verifies or guarantees every provider's skills, workmanship, background, licences, permits, insurance, or suitability for a particular job unless Prosfora explicitly states otherwise.

Does Prosfora guarantee every provider or service?

No. Prosfora provides the marketplace, communication tools, booking flow, payment infrastructure, and review system.

Services are offered and performed by independent providers. Prosfora does not guarantee service quality, safety, legality, availability, completion, or a specific result.

Clients should review provider information, ask questions, confirm important details in writing, and determine whether the provider is suitable before booking.

Does Prosfora verify licences, permits, or insurance?

Unless a listing or platform feature explicitly states otherwise, Prosfora does not verify every licence, permit, certification, insurance policy, inspection requirement, or legal obligation for every service.

Clients and providers are responsible for identifying and confirming any requirements that apply before work begins.

Are hazardous, emergency, or regulated jobs allowed?

Prosfora is not an emergency-response service and should not be used when there is an immediate risk to people, animals, property, or the environment.

Hazardous-material work and regulated services may require specialized training, licensing, permits, insurance, inspections, or approved disposal procedures. This can include work involving asbestos, mould, biohazards, gas, major electrical systems, structural hazards, or other dangerous conditions.

Providers must not offer prohibited services or work they are not legally qualified to perform. Clients should contact an appropriately licensed specialist or emergency service when required.

How do reviews work?

Reviews are connected to completed Prosfora bookings.

After a booking is completed, clients can leave honest, relevant feedback based on their actual experience. Reviews can help future clients evaluate communication, reliability, professionalism, and the overall service experience.

Reviews must follow Prosfora's review rules and must not contain false, abusive, discriminatory, irrelevant, or manipulated content.

Why should communication stay inside Prosfora?

Keeping job-related communication in Prosfora creates a clearer record of:

  • The requested work
  • The agreed price
  • Timing and location
  • Materials and access requirements
  • Changes to the scope
  • Completion details

This record may help both sides clarify what was agreed if a question or issue arises later.

Changes, Cancellations & Problems

What if the job details change?

Stop and confirm the new details before additional or different work continues.

Both sides should document any change to the scope, price, materials, timing, or completion expectations in the Prosfora message thread. If necessary, the booking or offer should be updated through the available platform process.

What if a provider does not show up?

The client should first contact the provider through Prosfora and allow a reasonable opportunity to respond.

If the provider remains unavailable or the issue cannot be resolved, contact Prosfora support with the booking details and relevant message history. Any next step will depend on the transaction status, available platform records, and applicable policies.

What if there is a problem with the service?

Clients and providers should first communicate through Prosfora and try to resolve the issue directly.

Clearly describe the issue, refer to the agreed scope, and keep relevant messages, photos, and completion details in the platform. If the issue remains unresolved, contact Prosfora support.

Prosfora may review available platform records and explain the applicable process, but it does not act as a court, insurer, employer, contractor, or guarantor of the service outcome.

How do cancellations and refunds work?

Cancellation and refund outcomes can depend on:

  • The booking or offer details
  • When the cancellation occurs
  • Whether work has started or been completed
  • Materials or other costs already incurred
  • The payment and payout status
  • Prosfora's Terms of Service and applicable platform process
  • Stripe, banking, and payment-network requirements

Clients and providers should communicate promptly and keep cancellation or refund agreements in the Prosfora message thread. Prosfora support may review available platform records when assistance is required.

What about disputes or chargebacks?

Clients should contact the provider and Prosfora support before starting a chargeback whenever practical.

Chargebacks are handled through the relevant payment network and Stripe process. They may affect refunds, provider payouts, account balances, and the availability of funds. Both sides may be asked to provide messages, offers, photos, receipts, or other records related to the booking.
